WHO WE ARE AND WHY GIVE?
FVTU is a Wisconsin chapter of Trout Unlimited and a 501(c)(3) non-profit organiztion that is focused on preserving our cold-water fisheries for future generations. We strive to accomplish this goal through local-fundraising as we receive no funding from ongoing TU membership dues.
While we love to fish, participate in local conservation projects across the Central Sands Region of Wisconsin with the Wisconsin DNR, support an annual youth camp, sponsor an annual fishing day for disabled anglers, host an annual fishing expo & fundraiser, and hold informational chapter meetings; the truth is we need to find other ways to grow our fundraising efforts to have a greater and more meaningful impact on the region’s streams.
Over the years we have built partnerships with other TU chapters; TU professional staff; State, County, and City governements, Conservation organizations, and private individuals. These partnerships when coupled with grants and contributions have resourced nearly $2 million of restoration work over the last 9 years – but there is so much more work to be done!
WHAT IS PLANNED GIVING?
Planned giving, also known as legacy giving, is the process of making a charitable donation to a non profit organization as part of a financial or estate plan.
Planned gifts are a way to make a donation to a nonprofit when it’s affordable for you and can take many forms: cash, property, life insurance policies, retirements assets, equity, charitable annuities, employer matches, etc. and can provide significant tax benefits for the donor.
Planned gifts support causes that you are passionate about and can be made during your lifetime or as part of the legacy you leave behind.
Non profits can often leverage legacy giving through matching grants and contributions expanding the impact your gift can have in accomplishing the organization’s mission.
Planned gifts and legacy giving is usually coordinated with professional financial advisors, attorneys, and non profit organizations
