Redd Survey Workshop

WDNR Wild Rose Fisheries Habitat Station

Meet at 7:45am – Training starts at 8:00am

Join fellow trout enthusiasts, and the WI DNR Trout Habitat Team on October 31st as we get trained to identify and log trout redds in area streams

There is still so much we don’t know about trout behavior, and this redd survey project is a great resource to begin building up a body of data about when and where our resident trout are spawning.

Like prior years, the plan is to meet at the WDNR Wild Rose Fisheries Habitat Station (N6154 State Rd 22, Wild Rose, 54982 – https://maps.app.goo.gl/fiSPDDoQPUpp8XP89). We will start the morning with a brief classroom presentation outlining the Redd Survey process. We will then head out to the field (Radley Creek, White River, and Mecan River) to get hands on training to identify redds, how to enter your observations into the app properly, and tips on how to go about conducting your own surveys.  It is hoped that many attending the workshop can spend the afternoon conducting Redd surveys!

Fox Valley TU will be sponsoring both a breakfast and lunch for this event, so please RSVP in order to provide a headcount for food – Thanks!
