Trout Stream Improvement in Central Wisconsin” by Shawn Sullivan
Fox²0 a water quality documentary” by Shaman Motion Pictures
October is a month of changes. Trees are going through their annual color change and most are leafless by the end of the month. The temperature changes as the northern winds get fridged. And, rain begins to change into snow. It is a fitting month to watch a local documentary Fox²0 because it will change your view on the Fox/Wolf watershed. This well rounded documentary shows the challenges faced by farmers, industries, municipalities and citizens keeping pollution out of the Fox River. There are things we all can do to help. Watching this 25 minute documentary might change some of your habits to help improve the quality of the water flowing past us every day.
One other change is the quality of trout habitat in Central Wisconsin. Thanks to Shawn Sullivan with the help of his crews and Trout Unlimited funding, many improvements have been made to our spring fed streams in the central region. Shawn Sullivan has been working for the DNR for many years and most of his work has been in and around trout streams. Shawn’s passion for the health of these streams is evident during his presentations. He will discuss locations and the improvements made and wants you to go out and enjoy those improvements. Change where you fish for trout next year by knowing where to go.
Shawn’s crews are based out of the Wild Rose and Lakewood fish hatcheries. The stream improvements will be around those areas.
Attend this meeting and learn about the efforts made to keep our rivers and streams a place we can all enjoy for many years
