Are you a vet or know a vet? If yes, then this is an opportunity of a lifetime. A free guided fishing float on a drift boat. You do not want to miss out on this!

FREE Guided Fly Fishing Float Trip in Northern Wisconsin for 2 Lucky FVTU military veterans or active military!

In 2018, the Fox Valley chapter of Trout Unlimited announced our participation in the Veterans Service Partnership program. The VSP program began in 2011 as an initiative to serve our Nation’s veterans active military, able and disabled, their spouses and their families and involve them with TU chapter activities with the ultimate goal of engaging them in meaningful and sustaining ways with the TU community locally and the mission more universally.

There are currently over 200 TU chapters nationwide supporting a VSP program with over 700 activities and over 5,000 vets served. Activities include but are not limited to fishing trips, fly casting clinics, fly tying classes, stream improvement projects, as well as regular chapter meetings and events.

Larry Mann from Hayward Fly Fishing Co. is offering to take 10 VSP participating veterans or active military from 5 WI Trout Unlimited chapters on a guided float trip chasing Smallmouth Bass in Northern Wisconsin. Larry will offer 5 boats with local guides for fishing on local Hayward waters at no charge.

FVTU is fortunate to offer 2 VSP participants on this free guided trip on July 15. The trip includes overnight accommodations July 14, an experienced guide with all fly fishing equipment and lunch the day of the trip. Each veteran would need a valid fishing license and transportation to and from Hayward. If no VSP participants are available we will select 2 existing veterans from the FVTU chapter. Due to tight timelines (no pun intended), we must select the lucky participants by July 7th.

Please contact Jeff Moureau ( to submit eligible participants or for further details. A drawing will be held in the event we have more than 2 candidates.
