41st Annual Fishing Day for People with Disabilities – Another huge success!
Submitted by: Nate Ratliff, President FVTU
The 41st Annual Fishing Day for People with Disabilities sponsored by Fox Valley Trout Unlimited (FVTU) was held on May 18, 2019 at YMCA Camp Shioc located outside of Shiocton, WI. Over 25 “fisherpeople” along with family members and helpers participated and caught numerous rainbow trout, bluegills, and bass on a consistent basis, resulting in smiles, laughs, and a lot of hooting and hollering! After fishing, a delicious lunch was served consisting of grilled brats and burgers. Over 10 FVTU members along with their friends and family were on hand to help with the fishing, fish cleaning, grilling, serving, and clean-up. Camp Shioc Staff, including Kim Norton, Camp Director, were also on hand to make sure everything went smoothly. Each year this event is eagerly anticipated by the “fisherpeople” and continues to bring joy to all who attend.
